Ora Banda Mining Ltd selected Byrnecut as the underground mining contractor to proceed with operations for the Riverina Underground Mine Services, as part of the Davyhurst Gold Project. Commencing in May 2023, this three-year contract encompasses a full suite underground development and production operations. Riverina Underground is located approximately 45km west of Menzies and 120 km northwest of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

With operations continuous, at 24 hours a day throughout the year, personnel work under a fly-in fly-out roster from the capital city of Perth, Western Australia. The airstrip and nearby camp which accommodates personnel have both undergone upgrades and improvements – effectively supporting the project as it continues to grow.

Byrnecut was able to facilitate an accelerated mobilisation programme cutting the portal within six weeks of award. With development progressing steadily, albeit through challenging ground conditions, production is anticipated in early 2024.
