Proven, safe and trusted performance at Telfer saw Alliance partners Newcrest Mining and Byrnecut Australia, pair together once again for a new mining contract at the Cadia Valley Operations.

The planned development of a new block cave lift at Newcrest's Cadia East mine saw the Company looking for a reliable partner with which to undertake the work.

Byrnecut, together with our ground support specialist sibling, Jetcrete Oz Pty Ltd, will undertake underground mine development and ground support installation using a mixed fleet of Company and Contractor supplied equipment.

The Cadia Valley Operations, 25km SW of Orange in central NSW is one of Australia's largest underground gold mines.

The intensive ground support regimes, which includes in-cycle requirements of cable bolting and shotcreting, presents a challenging environment for the development team. Both Contractor and Company excavation crews, in close cooperation with our ground support specialist, Jetcrete, are working together to bring the next block cave panel into production.

The mine is well accessed by sealed roads from the regional centre of Orange, with the workforce a mixture of local and FIFO personnel.
