Byrnecut were pleased to secure the four-year contract with Abra Mining through a competitive tender process.

Located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, 250km north of Meekatharra and 170km south of Newman, this high-value, high-grade lead-silver project is set to be one of the world’s biggest primary lead mines upon reaching full production.

The Abra Base Metals project will be focussed on developing the mine from the newly excavated boxcut, for later ore extraction via conventional open stoping methods. Long hole open stoping and lead production commenced late in 2023.

The site is accessed via public unsealed roads through the Great Northern Highway. Byrnecut operate this site on a fly-in, fly-out basis from Perth, employing around 150 personnel.
