Job description

We are currently seeking applicants for Operations Roles across our projects

With over 6,000 employees, the Byrnecut Group is a full-service underground mining contractor, providing services to major mine owners throughout Australia and Internationally. We operate a multi-million dollar fleet of specialised underground mining equipment across multiple continents and conditions.

Duties

  • Operate underground mining equipment safely and efficiently
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks on machinery and report defects or faults.
  • Follow mine plans, production schedules, and supervisor instructions to achieve daily production targets.
  • Maintain compliance with site safety procedures, hazard identification, and risk management processes.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and other crew members regarding operational issues and safety concerns.
  • Assist with general underground tasks including services installation, ventilation management, and equipment relocation.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and statutory mining requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational and inspection records.
  • Assist team members through the underground operation to meet operational demands safely.

Requirements

  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts (day/night shift).
  • Hold a relevant trade qualification.
  • Experience with underground mining equipment preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience operating underground mobile equipment (e.g., loaders, haul trucks, drills, or utility vehicles).
  • understanding of underground mining safety practices and hazard management.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability and willingness to follow mine plans, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in underground conditions.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental practices.
